Labour Standards Assurance System.

The Nest and Health Group Ltd (The Company) is a privately owned UK company, with its primary business focused on providing a community based single service point for a variety of professionals, involved in but not limited to Fitness, Health, and Wellness (FHW). Further marketing and distribution/sale of items related to this sector.

The Company is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and that all those under our control comply with applicable laws and ethical obligations.

We believe that it is important to maintain high levels of ethical standards to preserve its’ reputation within the marketplace and we expect our suppliers and contractors to maintain such appropriate similar high ethical standards and will take reasonable steps to establish the ethics and/or employment standards of our suppliers in line with the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code)

Where it is feasible the Company will only source products from suppliers who maintain appropriate ethical standards for the area in which they operate.

The Company has formulated this “Labour Standards Assurance System Policy” in accordance with its commitment to its Business Ethics Policy and Good Practice.

As such the Company seeks only to trade with suppliers who commit to adhere to all applicable local and international legislation, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and our own Code of Conduct, which helps to assure suitable labour standards.

 

The Company has identified the following minimum labour standards: -

  1. Forced & Compulsory Labour — the Company shall not engage in or support the use of forced or compulsory labour, or bonded or involuntary prison labour. Employees are free to leave upon reasonable notice.

  2. Freedom of Association — the freedom of association is respected, and the Company will comply with UK labour relations legislation in this regard.

  3. Health & Safety — the Company shall provide a safe and healthy workplace environment and shall take effective steps to prevent potential accidents and injury to employees’ health by minimizing, so far as is reasonably practicable, and in co-operation with its employees, the causes of hazards inherent in the workplace. All employees will receive safety and job specific instructions during the course of their employment with the company. Employees shall have access to clean sanitary facilities and drinking water.

  4. Child Labour — the Company does not engage in or support the use of child labour. If the company engages any young workers (eg: on work experience), it will ensure that a suitable risk assessment is carried out and that young persons are not exposed to any hazardous conditions, or in any case work more than 8 hours per day.

  5. Remuneration — the Company shall comply with national laws and regulations with regard to wages and benefits. All work-related activities are carried out on the basis of a recognised employment relationship established according to national law and practice.

  6. Working Hours — the Company shall comply with applicable laws and industry standards on working hours and holiday entitlements. The Company’s normal working hours do not exceed 48 hours per week, and overtime hours do not exceed 12 hours per week. The Company ensures all employees have the legal right to be employed in the UK.

  7. Discrimination — the Company shall not engage in or support any discriminatory practices in hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on race, national or social origin, caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliations, age or other conditions that could give rise to discrimination. The Company fully supports an Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy.

  8. Disciplinary Practices — the Company shall treat all employees with dignity and respect. The Company shall not engage in or tolerate the use of corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse of personnel. No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.

 

We will endeavour to ensure adherence to and raise awareness of these principles by:-

  • Communicating our code of conduct clearly to all suppliers who make our products.

  • Assessing the working conditions at manufacturing sites against our code of conduct.

  • Working collaboratively with suppliers and positively engaging with the people in our supply chain to overcome issues and ensure the continuous improvement of working conditions.

  • Ensuring all our staff understand our code of conduct and that our practices do not encourage breaches of the code.

  • Complying with all local laws in each country.

 

Anyone can raise a concern at any time about an incident that happened in the past, is happening now, or you believe will happen in the near future, which breaches this policy, by emailing hello@TheNest.health and ensuring LSAS is quoted in the subject field.

The Company reserves the right to freely communicate with any lawful agencies whereby any possible, apparent or suspected breach of policy and/or relevant local or international law, irrespective of any other agreement made between the Company and its business partners, in order to fully support legal authorities with any required investigation.

The Management Representative for LSAS within The Nest and Health Group Ltd is appointed and Senior Management fully endorse this policy.
